Hank
- I got my first akita,
Es Kay O's Hank Williams, Jr., (Hank)
from
Sherob Akitas in December, 1987. Hank, seen here, was a wonderful
Akita with a perfect temperment. He was confident, bright, outgoing
and absolutely loved people. Hank passed away in August of 1999 due
to old age. That was tough and hard for me to let him go. But I knew
that he was ready and I couldn't watch him suffer. He suffers no more
because he is resting peacefully. This picture here is of Hank with
his most favorite dead stuffed animal, Garfield. He had that nasty,
raggedy Garfield doll for months until Percy, a rescue akita I had
for a bit, finished it off. I would probably still have that thing
if she hadn't done it in. Click on his picture to see additional photos
of my life with Hank.
Mikki
- Just about 8 months prior
to Hank's passing, I bought Mikki from Sherob Akitas and is affectionately
known there
as
Sherob Visal's Hot Stuff. I bought Mikki knowing that I could not
live in an empty house once Hank crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Mikki
seen here, in a more relaxed state, gave me nothing but hell for the
first year of her life! Haha, I will pay Sherry back some day! (But
Sherry is forgiven actually, because Mikki found a hole in my water
pipe 2 feet below our backyard; she is obssessed with water). But,
we persevered and she has turned into the second most wonderful akita
I know. Mikki is Hank's cousin, but they couldn't be more opposite.
Mikki is high strung, high energy and lost once she is outside "her
domain" (which I actually find rather odd based on our tenuous
beginnings). Whereas Hank was laid back, quiet and confident. Click

she uses them.
Angel
- Shortly after Hank's death,
I wanted another akita. Having two akitas in the house with Hank and
Mikki
was
great. I also wanted to honor Hank's memory by providing a home for
a lost or abandoned rescue akita so I brought Angel home in April
of 2000. Seen here at about 9 months, Angel is my Wuv Pup. Angel was
fostered by Katherine at Companion Pet Placement in Dallas after he
and two of his littermates were dumped in a field at 3 weeks of age.
I got Angel when he was approximately 3 months old and he weighed
only 12 lbs. Mikki instantly tried to establish her status at the
house and bowled him over on our wooden deck on day two of his stay
with us. Mikki hurt his back leg with that move and he stuck real
close to me after that. Its been like that ever since. He is small
for his age, but packs lots of love into his day. Click (No

faced.
